Every version of Rhapsody, from DR1 on out, will include a complete install of
BSD UNIX 4.x as an optional item in the System
Installer. On the Intel version of
Rhapsody DR1, this UNIX should be near-final quality,
as few changes will need
to be made between OpenStep and Rhapsody. On the
PowerPC version, a
recompilation is most of what will be done, so even in
DR1 it will be late-alpha or
early-beta quality. It will, in essence, be one of the
stablest and fastest Mac
UNIXes out there.
Huh? Rhapsody will not have Mach?
