"OpenNT is capable of running almost everything Unix, from X-Windows
applications to high-performance Apache Web Server software. And OpenNT
comes with most well-known Unix utilities, such as Korn shell, C shell,
Bourne shell, and Perl. There are more than 200 Unix and X11R5 commands
supported in all.

"Although Softway Systems currently doesn't include support for the
hugely popular GCC compiler, the company plans to add GCC capabilities
sometime this month.

"OpenNT also supports BSD Sockets mapped directly to WinSock; POSIX .1,
POSIX.2, and ANSI C interfaces; X11R6 Windowing Servers and X11R5
Windowing System clients and libraries; case-sensitive file names;
full-shell job control; full integration with the NT security model and
file systems; support for Microsoft Visual C++ development platform; and
the ability to run Win32 and Unix applications at the same time from
within the OpenNT environment."
