OK, why can't PCs use active noise suppression -- the
generation of matched anti-noise -- for masking the
annoying whirrs of fans and hard-drives?
Failing that, what's the best strategy for bringing
the human I/O (monitor, sound, keyboard, mouse) so far
away from the main unit that you can't hear it?
Normal monitor/speaker cable seems to suffer
interference/drain over long distances. Could you
extend the PCI bus a few dozen yards, putting the
sound and video cards on your desktop but the CPU and
hard drive a few rooms away?
