I don't think Freenet or Mojo Nation have solved several important problems
for scaling:

1) power law network vs. exponential network issues
2) tying routing and evolution in the node topology
3) load balancing and distribution for bandwidth, computation and storage
4) partitioning physical and logical topologies and associated routing rules
5) allowing applications to safely specify policy-based routing and topology
rules, such as clustering
6) application state management

IMHO, of course, as somebody who is building a similar system.

My gut reaction is ...Freenet will go a long way into solving some of the
problems some of the time. Scale and size busting problems im not so sure
of. Maybe they need to merge with mojo nation (which I am looking at and
testing out soon)
