I disagree with this. One of the great conveniences of an htmld is
its compartmentalization of link heirarchies, easing the management and
increasing the portability of document structures. Requiring the
separation of like htmlds diminishes their utility to some degree.

I agree completely... This restriction is not something
that should be enforced...

Right now I have directories set up as follows

company.htmld/index.html
company.htmld/products/ProductA.htmld
company.htmld/products/ProductB.htmld

so each company compartmentalizes all its components, and
each product all of its components... Moving, or removing a
companies entries is as easy as dealing with a single directory...

if we ban .htmld within .htmld, I'd have to have

Company/Company.htmld/index.html
Company/Products/ProductA.htmld
Company/Products/ProductB.htmld

Which in the case of the company.htmld entry is redundant..
