NETWORK APPLICATIONS FOR THE INTERNET AND INTRANET AT OBJECT WORLD WEST '96
Don't miss this exciting event! Object World West invites you to a
presentation featuring Marc Andreessen, co-founder and senior vice president
of technology at Netscape Communications Corporation.
Mr. Andreessen's special presentation, "From Content to Application: New
Frontiers on the Internet and Intranet," will take place on Wednesday,
August 21, 1996 from 12:45 p.m. - 1:30 p.m., at the San Jose Convention
Center in San Jose, Calif. Mr. Andreessen will discuss how technology such
as the Internet Interorb Protocol, IIOP, is empowering organizations with
the ability to easily develop and access applications across platforms while
leveraging existing hardware and software investments. By employing a
variety of techniques and tools in Netscape One, Open Network Environment,
such as Javascript 1.1, Netscape Internet Foundation Classes and a
distributed object model based on IIOP, developers can create a new
generation of client/server applications.
Marc Andreessen developed the idea for NCSA Mosaic 99 browser for the
Internet in the fall of 1992 while he was an undergraduate student at the
University of Illinois and a staff member at the universityss National
Center for Supercomputing Applications in Champaign, Ill. He created the
friendly, easy-to-use navigational tool for the Internet with a team of
students and staff at NCSA in early 1993. In his role as Senior Vice
President of Technology at Netscape Communications, Mr. Andreessen sets and
oversees the technical direction of the company.
The sixth annual Object World West comes to the San Jose Convention Center
next week and will feature conference sessions, exhibits, daily keynotes,
book signings, exhibitor seminars and user group meetings.
