I haven't seen Microsoft this confused since the should-we-dump-OS/2
days. The software giant can't decide what to do
about the threat from Java-based network computers.
One faction wants to rearchitect around Java. Another
group wants to revive "classic" Windows with a massive
marketing relaunch. Come to the Web site for details
of the infighting. *My prediction*: In December 1995,
Microsoft had an Internet day that turned the company
in a new direction. Watch for a similar Java day
by the end of this year.
