Swedish GSM network operator Europolitan AB and integration firm Nocom AB
yesterday launched a wireless application protocol service delivery system
aimed at companies wishing to provide secure information services to mobile
phones. The Nocom-built WAP Direct offering will allow companies to build
WAP-based applications which are then made available via the Europolitan GSM
network, rather than the internet. Europolitan says this not only increases
the security of the application, but also gives greater scope for tracking
and monitoring usage. Nocom's contract to provide the software and
integration runs for three years.
