Could it be that Silly was using caliper in a refernce to the Victorian
Era belife that intelligence could be equated with skull measuremnets?
Thus if the smart monkey was of such and such a measurment on the caliper
then maybe he was looking for other monkeys of who would fit said caliper,
the caliper that measured his intellect.
