STOP the madness! What possible value would Red Hat have
for Be other than nifty graphical desktop? Red Hat's sole
money making product that IMHO truly ads value to their company
is the Red Hat Secure Server.

Be Shares Rise Amid Speculation About Red Hat Acquisition

Menlo Park, California, Dec. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of Be
Inc., a maker of software that runs computer operating systems,
rose as much as 39 percent on speculation it may be acquired by
Linux software maker Red Hat Inc.

Be's shares rose 6 13/16 to 32 1/16 in midafternoon trading
of 2.8 million, almost triple the three-month daily average. The
stock rose as high as 35 1/8.
