A reader reports on Microsoft's promises of a new MS Office version:
At the MacIS large accounts conference - which I
attended - here this week, Ben Waldman of
Microsoft's Macintosh group made a commitment to
ship Microsoft Office 97 for Macintosh
before the end of the year. It will be fully
optimized for Power Macintosh (but won't run on
68K Macs) and will have many new features,
including drag and drop install. "Drag a folder
from the cd-rom onto your hard disk and you're
done", he said. "We will never again make
the mistake of shipping a product on Macintosh
which is inferior to the Windows version",
Waldman promised.
He'll be coding the new Ms Monster Truck CD-Rom
