Of course, as far as I know, the two of us are not in a participating
location: we're working amidst two floors of suits and dresses from
marketing...

Subject: Engineering Announcement
Recently, I met with Engineering VPs and Directors to discuss the goal
of transforming our organization into the undisputed, best engineering
organization in the world. A lofty goal but one that I know we can
attain.
We agreed on initiatives spanning a wide range of topics. But first
things first. Your management told me you want to dress more casually.
Done!
Effective immediately, business casual dress is approved office dress
for MCI Engineering in participating locations. Business casual means
using your best judgment in selecting attire appropriate for the
office. For the office, not the backyard or the beach. (Of course,
regular business attire --ties, etc.--should be worn on days when you
have customer contact.) Look for a note from HR today to detail some of
the specific guidelines.
While I know this announcement won't transform us into the best
engineering organization in the world, it is something meant to make
life at the office a little more comfortable and is really just the
beginning of many significant changes that will make us all more
productive.
Look forward to more news, more announcements soon. Remember, the best
in the world!
Fred
