How about a definition of "linguisitic efficiency?" I've slept a lot
since my linguistics class, so I may well be using the term wrong. I
thought it had something to do with a theory of phonetic difficulty ---
minimizing certain kinds of sound combinations and in general numbers of
phonemes --- and some sort of common patterns of morphological
transformation.
