Historically, anarchism is a branch of socialism. While more
right-wing socialists tended to favor government control (this trend
went to its most extreme in Communism), the anarchists tended to oppose
it as unjust, in common with the more everyday economic structures of
power.
So anarchism is based in class struggle.
More recently, Heinleinians and Ayn-Randians have begun calling for
abolition of government control while strengthening the bonds of
economic control, and calling themselves anarchists. They are not
interested in class struggle. Thus it is sometimes necessary to refer
to "class struggle" anarchists.
