Brokat Offers WAP Consulting Service

Brokat Infosystems AG, the Stuttgart, Germany-based e-business software
developer, is launching a new three-day consulting service for showing
companies how to benefit from WAP.

Customers of the service, called WAPtop, will receive a WAP-enabled Nokia
7110 mobile phone and a laptop equipped with demonstration versions of
Nokia's WAP server, Brokat's Twister transaction processing software and
Diversinet's WTLS Certificates security product.

With the help of a Brokat consultant, customers will then investigate what
they can do with WAP, how WAP services work and what they need to do to
implement WAP services before rolling out their own offering. After three
days, customers of the 9,000 pound ($14,400) service, will receive a
detailed WAP "roadmap" to help them implement their own customized WAP
strategy.

In keeping with its own software products, WAPtop is aimed at companies
which want to use WAP for simple transactional services such as online
banking and share transactions. Brokat is using the UK to test-market WAPtop
with the intention of rolling it out globally. Of course, the intention of
the service is not simply benevolent as Brokat hopes the service will lead
to increased sales of its products.
