Huh? I'd think the richest millionaires of 1900
*could* buy cars, telephones, heat, clean water,
and sanitary sewers, just not television. Heck,
go back to the richest millionaires of the bronze
age, and they still could be transported (how many
of the poorest Americans have private drivers?),
hire entertainers, and buy heat, clean water, and
sanitary sewers.
