"Political sentiment favoring open source software is finally
reflected in a large-scale, mission critical Linux deployment by a
major French government agency."

"More than a year after members of the French parliament first
proposed that French government agencies be mandated to use open
source software, Linbox SA today announced that the French tax
authority, Direction Générale des Impôts (DGI), is preparing to deploy
950 Linux-based application servers at sites all over France. Linbox
will provide the servers, which will run Red Hat 6.2."

According to the announcement, a decisive factor in the DGI's choice
was said to be Linbox's Factory, an automated installation procedure
developed by Linbox which provides fast and easy large-scale
