I dunno who yanked that post out of the dewar, but I'm referring to
the kind of networking which see signalling latency.
Trying to ascertain that a given piece of up to date with all the other
versions of the same piece living in boxes littered across the entire
global landscape results in traffic. A lot of traffic. Huge gobs of pointless
traffic.
Either that, or you frequently run into out of date versions. Does
okay for a daily newspaper, does lousy for an object that changes
on submicrosecond scale.
