Analysts say the appearance of the first WAP (wireless application protocol)
pornography sites signals the adoption of WAP technology into the
mainstream. Although the sites offer only tiny grainy images of naked
Japanese models, sociologists say that the key to predicting whether a new
technology will take off is to determine whether it's used for pornography:
"It's inevitable, I suppose, that with any new technology people will use it
