Yes, but you can carry around a small PDA with a TFT with many times
that resolution, running Linux and a vanilla browser. There is no
point in cellphones and PDAs being not one device. (Heck, even a Palm
would seem an improvement). Or, using abovementioned Private Eye
devices, which in principle could give you megapixels in true color.
Of course the stuff isn't quite there yet, but this means wireless
pseudobrowsers on dinky displays are just a vogue, similiarly to VR,
for the same reasons.
