Progress's SonicMQ won Java messaging product of the
year at JavaOne this year. We spoke with the Progress
people while we were there. They are looking to
expand their product line so that their
product will have JTA/JTS built on top of their JMS.
Unfortunately it's not open source and is in fact
quite expensive.
On another angle, I've also been talking to the Apotram
people. Ole Jørgen Anfindsen (<Ole.Anfindsen@eng.sun.com>)
is working inside of Sun Labs on collaborative transactions.
You can find more information about his project at: www.apotram.com
I tried to convince him that he should offer his transaction
manager as an open source project, but it seems unlikely. Interesting
project and he's got a cute collaborative editing over
the (local area) Internet demo.
Other than that, BYOTS.
