More on plumbing, or, CORBA-lite?

Hadn't looked at Plan 9 in a while... the neatest thing in this release,
IMO, is the new "plumbing" architecture. In essence, "plumbing" is a
sort of loosely-coupled, content / context driven, rule-based IPC message
dispatcher, implemented in the "everything is a file(system)" style of
Plan 9 and friends. If XML-RPC is like IIOP done right, then Plan 9's
plumbing is somewhat like the whole of CORBA rethought, generalized,
simplified, and retrofitted into a more coarse-grained, UNIX-like style.
Very neat stuff.

Jeff Bob sez check it out!
