Third Generation - personal, multimedia mobile communications In
September 1998, the first call using a Third Generation Nokia terminal
was made on a test network in Japan. Nokia had reached an important
milestone on its road to Third Generation mobile telephony! By 2001,
the first commercial Third Generation mobile network will be launched,
and the world will be introduced to digital mobile multimedia
communications.
