Primate researcher Goodall defends Disney
Jane Goodall, the world famous primate researcher, said Tuesday she
believed animal rights
activists were attacking Walt Disney World's new Animal Kingdom, where
about two dozen
exotic animals have died recently simply because of the Disney name.
"Just a few animals
dying is not a concern for me," Goodall said. She was a consultant in
the park's development
and serves on its board of advisers. "Animals are being born and die
all the time in captivity. They can die from old age or from any
number of things. The only reason this came up was because of the
Disney name. They're an attractive target," she said. See
