When I interviewed at Amazon in November 99, I was assured
by their HR department that local banks waived many of the
usual financial requirements for car and house loans when
presented with proof of options grants and vesting schedules.
Their offer was 50% of CA market, which was about 75% of
WA market, and they said they counted on the stock options
to more than make up for that.
There's going to be a lot of hurt going around up there.
