Color me spoiled. Portland has some of the most amazing Bookstores such that
amazon becomes a place I go almost of last resort. Oh yea, and zines and
comics (indi and othersise) as well. This is a reading city.

The chain goes something like this....I want a book

to read once
  find the isbn online and use the library widget to then reserve a copy
from the Multnomah Public Library
  find it as a txt,html,pdb,prc etc etc

to keep
  check Bookmooch (not a high hit ratio but has turned up some keepers)
  check Powells (they stock used copies along side new ones, so I can choose
condition or edition)
  check Amazon

Recently my dead tree purchases have been doubling as I have to buy my
daughter a copy so that I can read the one I got for myself (both Little
Brother and the Mysterious Benedict Society had to be bought in 2's to
ensure I got a crack at them sometime this year)
