Actually, this isn't quite true. Obviously Goldberg's engaging in us-
vs-them. In doing so, he's defining both an "us" (in his case, the
right-wingnut fringe, the sort of audience receptive to the
stuttering "no, we're not the fascists, THEY are") and them (the
dreaded "libruls" --- increasingly, anybody who sits anywhere left of
the far right extreme on any issue, and / or anybody who criticizes
in any way the right-wing extremists.)

I haven't seen any sort of response from any bona fide "liberals" in
any case (and am unlikely to, given the right-wing control of the
media) and I'm certainly not appropriately empowered to or intending
to speak for "them." I'm only one of "them" to the extent that I
reject Goldberg's thesis on the face of it due to obvious, glaring
historical inaccuracy. I was merely remarking on how far the
brainwashing of the right wing has come, that such assertions should
be given any consideration at all.

$0.02,

"I am James' right testicle" ;-)
