[FoRK] Entrepreneur mode - Angels / VCs?

I'm Not yet in full entrepreneur mode, and I may not be for a couple 
years.  I have a vision of a couple interesting booms that I'm 
positioning for that I think will be fun.

Still, I often grow various ideas to the point where I know they are 
viable and could, if properly pursued lead to very successful businesses 
or product features / patents.

Now that I am in The Valley (Mountain View), who would you suggest I 
talk to for idea funding / licensing / etc.?
Friends?  Firms?  The modern path for success? 

(I have a bit of experience in this area, but mostly during the last 
boom and far too much on the East Coast, which, based on what I saw, I 
view as a pale imitation of the real guys here.)
