[FoRK] some fresh software

So let me rant on a little bit, because this is a place where people
will get the subtleties.
What we're doing here is an AJAX player widget. It encompasses but
isn't limited to Flash. So this is a move to internet standards and
away from proprietary tools.
The widget gets its playlist from the current document. The playlist
is the web page, and not just any web page but the web page being
viewed. So let me say here that as Mr Fucking Playlist Obsessive (see
e.g. http://gonze.com/playlists/playlist-format-survey.html) this is a
major upgrade in the technology.
The playlist isn't pure guesswork based on the .mp3 extension. See
http://yahoomediaplayer.wikia.com/wiki/How_To_Link for the specifics
of the fancy stuff we can do by interpreting HTML semantics in the
context of playlisting.
Our software is a hosted library. We're a hybrid of a web app, a
widget, and a library. This lets us do a constant cycle of new
releases like a web app. But we're also Javascript, and we operate at
that level of privilege. So this is an interesting direction for
software development.
