For once, I find myself in agreement w/ the right-wing radio pundits  
re: this speech.  This morning Laura Ingraham and some columnist from  
National Review were talking about how odd and ham-handed and poorly- 
timed this speech was, how clearly MR was going for a JFK when in  
fact the situation and context is completely different, and how  
likely this was to alienate the very evangelical (non-Mormon) Xians  
it was apparently intended to appeal to.

All that's true --- AND what Tom said. :-)

Per the above statement, that's one of the most Margaret-Atwood- 
fucking-terrifying statements a presidential candidate has made since  
this:

   "I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor  
should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God."
