Dear FoRK,
I'm feeling very vulnerable and fearful.
I'd really like some support, from somebody, anybody, really.
I have a vision that science and spirituality are not by nature opposed
to each other. This is a vision of spirituality that does not rely
on anything
otherworldly, etheric.
I think that "the heart" is real, that feeling love is real, that these are
psychological realities. And I think that the word "God" can be understood
in terms of love of life, love of nature, love of society. And I
think humankind
has a social instinct, and that there are people out there who want to share
the story of love of the universe with one another.
I think it's one thing for Tom & Jeff to say, "This guy's a jerk," or for Tom
to say, "Moderator, remove this person," repeatedly, always followed with,
"Oh, I'm only joking." That's "okay."
But when it gets to the world of saying, "You need serious psychological
help," and trying to classify someone as a DSM-whatever, I feel threatened,
and I think a line has been crossed.
I'm fearful right now, I'm scared, and I really need some support.
Please.
I'm going to leave, if there isn't some support, or someone saying,
"This isn't okay," publicly.
Thank you,
Lion
