I'm not sure anybody "knows what post-modernism really is."

Witness the history of the USENET group alt.postmodern, which spent
at least the first several years after its founding arguing about
what, in fact, the newsgroup was supposed to be ABOUT. (This is a
topic near and dear to my heart as in fact the newsgroup, rather
embarrassingly, was originally intended merely as a destination for
some misplaced discussion previously on alt.cyberpunk, and *not* in
fact originally intended for academic / critical discussion of
postmodernism per se!)

I think most of us are interested in examining and discussing
literary
(and musical) works that possess a certain stylistic excellence
and perhaps a
rather extreme perspective; this is what CP is all about, no?
Maybe there
should be a newsgroup like, say, alt.postmodern or somthing.
Something less
    restrictive in scope than alt.cyberpunk.

       -- me, alt.cyberpunk, '88 or thereabouts

My own theory: post-modernism is a schmoo.

Wallowing in (post-modern) vanity,

;-)
