Uh, I believe you can move stuff over to the Kindle via a USB cable.
Somewhat primitive, I admit, but functional.

In fact, I just bought one for my wife -- she's had Sony Reader envy
for a while, and the Wikipedia lookup sounded too cool for words.

I don't know whether she'll pick up any of her favorite blogs on the
system; the $0.10/file conversion fee is annoying but unlikely to be a
deal breaker.

Side note:  Older boy (almost 17) is happily hacking away on the
Android SDK and has written a sample app that's been downloaded a few
times.  Now, if he would just be as dutiful with his assigned
coursework.
