I'm surprised that there hasn't been more discussion of
the debate over research using embryonic stem cells. This
has far broader importance that it is usually given. The
issue is not just research on embryonic stem cells, but
extends to a host of future technologies: therapeutic
cloning, artifical organ growth, genetic engineering,
and methods not yet conceived. The critical question is
whether superstitious nonsense will inform the the
ethical boundaries that will constrain research and
development. Many on this list eagerly anticipate these
future technologies. The loons will not stop their
complaint with just this one issue. Bush reelected will
dedicate himself to appointing some of those loons to
the Supreme Court.

Or do y'all just plan on moving to Europe? ;-)
