[FoRK] Opinions of Plone/Zope/ZWiki/Python?

Very good timing -- CA plans to ship a product (Brightstor Document Manager) based on Plone and Zope.  The big CA part will be Ingres and a Zope database adapter for Ingres, along with some workflow/versioning stuff.

The product will still be mostly Plone/Zope, so this is going to be interesting -- can CA make money on a mostly OSS product.

By the way, Ingres as open-source is pretty cool.  It's not a perfect RDBMS, but it's damned good if you understand it, and handles a number of hard problems quite well -- replication, double-byte languages, even custom indexes.
