So whatever happened to BSD? I can understand how Linux got momentum
while BSD was still encumbered with ATT code, but that's ancient history
now. Why isn't BSD the choice now for elitists and technophiles?

(I'm not counting OS/X only because its BSD legacy came via NeXTstep
via Mach, and Mach was started before Linux existed and BSD was the
closest to a open Unix at the time...)
