I propose that full SGML compliance be the goal we strive for.
After all, HTML and all derivatives are only instances of SGML.

In this paradigm, *any* tagset can be used, given the DTD for it.

A good example of a browser heading in this direction is
the SoftQuad Panorama client. Take a look at

http://www.sq.com/panor-pr.html

This product is a Mosaic add-on, but there's no reason why the
SGML functionality couldn't be built into one product.

Based on the large and growing use of SGML in the vertical
markets for document databases, IMHO this will be the killer
app uniting the MCCA strategy with the Web/Internet frenzy.
