Someone named Robert Harley at 3:26 AM -0800 on 3/12/97, came up with this:

* Terry Shannon (source of reliable bits concerning DEC) mentioned
* recently the they are working on a "128-bit MRISC architecture".
*
* Does anyone know what "MRISC" is???
*
* -- Rob.

I believe it just means "multi" as in sMp

usually quad or better.
