Actally, these "gold" efforts are not the origin of Kudos,
because they are only set up for --- and will only be set up
for --- commercial companies paying for people to read their
web pages.
Kudos is everyone pays "kudos" after looking at every page,
with the amount being the number that the viewer thinks the
viewed page was worth.
