XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT BREAK 3/27/97 10:43 PST
HALE-BOPP SHIP; GROUP PLANNED RENDEZVOUS FOR MORE THAN A YEAR
To investigators, it is becoming clearer by the hour the reasons 39=20
members of the Heaven's Gate cult committed mass suicide in Rancho=20
Santa Fe, California sometime over the past week. The simultaneous=20
lunar eclipse on Palm Sunday coupled with the passing of the Hale-Bopp=20
comet were prophetic signs to the group, authorities believe,=20
signaling the arrival of a "Next Level spacecraft" flying behind the=20
comet. The DRUDGE REPORT has learned that investigators are not only=20
in possession of video tape testimony by each of the suicide victims=20
but also hundreds of Internet Usenet group postings by the group's=20
self-confessed "Messiah"-a chilling outline of its suicide=20
intentions.
Authorities are also in possession of a detailed manifesto by the=20
group's leader, believed to be a 25 year-old male.
"I came to Earth some 2000 years ago from another physical, biological=20
Evolutionary Level as the expected "Messiah," or Jesus, and for this=20
current mission, RETURNED to this level, this planet and entered into=20
a human body some 24 years ago, Earth-time," the still unidentified=20
leader wrote in a July 1996 manifesto.
"For the most part, I have spent these years in seclusion working with=20
my students/"disciples" - preparing them for membership in the "NEXT=20
WORLD," the Evolutionary Level Above Human, the true physical Kingdom=20
of Heaven.
"Now, before departure via a "Next Level" mothership, my students and=20
I will be assisting my Father and His other Next Level helpers...
"The human kingdom was never meant to be anything but a stepping stone=20
- a 'realized hell' that must be evacuated WITH THE HELP OF A=20
REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE NEXT EVOLUTIONARY LEVEL - THE KINGDOM OF=20
HEAVEN."
"The choices of many will find them in a 'mind set' that would view us=20
as 'cultish,' radical, and doomsdayish, to say the least, while others=20
have chosen to seek mental nourishment that would have them suspect=20
'Truth' in my statements," wrote the apparent leader.
The manifesto is a complicated, confusing mix of science fiction and=20
neo-Gnostic theory that reads like pure madness. The DRUDGE REPORT=20
has also learned that authorities are now working on the theory that=20
the suicides had been planned for months, if not years.
The apparent leader wrote: "There is a simple evolutionary procedure=20
which applies to those who might leave or graduate from the human=20
kingdom and enter the Evolutionary Kingdom Level Above Human (the=20
Kingdom of Heaven or Kingdom of God). Periodically, the Kingdom Level=20
Above Human sends one of its members "down" into the human kingdom (to=20
incarnate into a human body)
=B7 one who has previously been taken through that evolutionary=20
transition- to offer the knowledge to those who have been 'picked' as=20
possible recipients of that graduation information. This=20
Representative of that Next Kingdom literally takes those candidates=20
through their weaning from the human world-assisting them in the=20
actual separation or breaking of ties to their humanness, and helping=20
them 'graft' to Him as the Representative of that Next Level. Their=20
final separation is the willful separation from their human body, when=20
they have changed enough to identify as the spirit/mind/soul, ready to=20
put on a biological body belonging to the Kingdom of Heaven. This=20
entering into their 'glorified' or heavenly body takes place aboard a=20
Next Level spacecraft, above the Earth's surface."
