Hmmm, lessee... My MCI stock is climbing nicely, becoming a nice
downpayment on a house. Rohit joins MCI, my stock plunges, I start
considering a nice double-wide trailer. Rohit quits MCI, my stock
suddenly begins to soar again. Good luck in Cali, Ro. I'll invite you
to the house warming.

WorldCom offers $30B for MCI

NEW YORK - WorldCom Inc., the nation's fourth-largest
long-distance company, says it is offering to buy MCI Communications
Corp. for $30 billion. The offer tops a deal MCI was on the verge of
closing with British Telecommunications PLC. WorldCom's bold
attempt takes advantage of the recent troubles between BT and MCI
over projected losses in MCI's local telephone business.
