I don't agree with your logic. Why only these four interpretations? Why
not a bit of charisma and self-deception on Jesus's part, a willingness
to believe on the part of his disciples, and normal legend-building that
happens over time? (Or would you count this as "the whole thing is made
of out of whole cloth"?)
