Yeah, the thing I like about FoRK is that flames are considered on-topic, as
far as I can tell. And if so, it's the only list I'm aware of that is so.
The art of flaming is much dis'ed. The problem comes up when people quote
you off-list, or give more significance to posts on this list than they're
due.

On this list I have called Guha a patent abuser and told Jonathan to go fuck
himself, and return to his nutshell. This is some of the best writing I've
ever done. I have also been told that I badly need a blow job.

I didn't know that Adam filtered posts to this list. If that's the case,
I'll go turn on the subscription again.

ah, hell, dave -- one of my favorite things about this list is its
off-the-cuff, semi-repetitive, oft-insulting, oft-revealing,
clever-takes-all nature, and that seems like the sort of environment in
which you thrive (imho -- i'm just an observer...) post away! and, anyhoo,
adam wouldn't have let the davenet subscription go through if he didn't
think it was at least a marginally good idea, right?

especially since this list is one of the few places that seems to actively
encourage conflict -- sometimes with, sometimes without resolution. don't
let the man getcha down.
