I decide to put all my prejudices aside and
download the Internet Explorer 4.0 beta 1 release
for Solaris 2.5.1. I first go to microsoft.com,
follow the link to the IE page and then the download page,
and start downloading. On several different pages
I find instructions for dowloading 'Internet Explorer
4.0 Preview 1 for Unix' and on several pages I see
the words 'Solaris', '2.5.1', and 'Sparcstation'.
I continue meandering around on the site and then as
the download nears completion, I want to go back
to read the installation instructions. I do a search
on each of these keywords, every single search ends up
with the screen: The search for '....' in the selected
category [Microsoft Full Site Search and also Internet Explorer both
with and without 'Include Technical Articles' set] found no
matching records. I go back and find the software page
by hand. Something is amiss.
