In researching the prehistory of the Web, I came across a very thorough
handbook (300pp) of information services and tools available circa August
1994 as RFC 1689. Presumably, Tim contributed the chapter on the WWW -- I
sense a wonderful .sig :-)

PS. The October 19, 1993 summary of Hyper-G under the "Coming Attractions"
Appendix of that RFC has a cautionary .sig in it, too: "Future plans: Too
numerous to mention."
