Intel Arithmetic (lack thereof)

I'm dyin' to see some live video of the HK handover, but CNN is the only
channel we get at MCI, and it's foolishly insisting on live broadcast of
some silly nasa thing :-)

I go to CNNinteractive, but the video plugin they chose is IE4-unsavvy.
Sigh.

But there's an ad link intel, which has its OWN hk site. God knows why...

http://www.intel.com/hk/eng/hk1997/index.htm

And what, what does this precious site do to allay my fear that I have
already missed it (i.e. the open question, "What the hell is the local time
in HK right now, if CNN isn't showing the ceremony??")?

"In 749 minutes, history will be made" -- an automatic counter, but
seriously off. Scroll to the bottom:

"* In case you're wondering.. our countdown clock shows the time remaining
between your local time (according to your PC settings) and midnight June
30, 1997 in your time zone. "

Idiots....
