EarthLink Network Inc. (ELNK) rose 5, or 9.2 percent, to 62
9/16 after the Wall Street Journal reported that Gateway Inc.
(GTW) is in ``early'' talks to buy the No. 4 Internet service
provider. The companies haven't yet discussed specific financial
terms, the paper said. People close to the situation said
Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) has also considered acquiring EarthLink,
the newspaper reported.
