Did I ever reply to your message? I don't think I did.

Tahoe is beautiful. The Salton Sea is really really gross. There are dead
fish and zillions of fish scales covering the shore. It smells like salt
(and dead fish). And of course it's pretty much surrounded by desert and the
occasional trailer park. Other than that, it's great :-) It may have been
better many years ago when less water had evaporated from it. (It was formed
by accident at the beginning of this century when some levee broke.)

We have a videotape of us and the kids visiting it, and of the kids holding
their noses and acting grossed out (but otherwise enjoying themselves
immensely).
