SUV's are nothing more than the modern daay station wagon which has always
had a large part of the automobile market.

The difference is the "sport" part. So now instead of wanting a Porsche or
Mustang/Camaro most of that market buy's $40K trucks.

What is really frightening is how poorly engineered most of them are. Look
at the brakes on a 2 ton Suburban. They can barely stop the sedan their
taken off of. However, that isn't a problem for the person driving the
Suburban.
