I can't speak on Mac OS X with any personal knowlege, but I'd be very
surprised if it didn't have sendmail. Try:

find / -name sendmail

if you haven't already. If it's not installed, you can get it from
<http://www.sendmail.org/>. Or you can get one of the alternatives,
like Postfix, Exim, or Qmail.
